The Secret Life of Stories: A talk about how and why we tell stories

  • The Gregson Community and Arts Centre 33 - 35 Moor Gate Lancaster, England, LA1 3PY United Kingdom (map)

It may seem as though a story is told and everyone hears the same story, but looking beneath the surface the process of transmission reveals itself as an act of co-creation.

Jacqueline Harris explores the secret life of stories, how telling and listening to stories is a function of being human, including thoughts and ideas on trance states,  imagination and living in an ever-becoming storied world.

“We shall continue to use story in all walks of life, and the more conscious we become of how we use story, and why we do this to narrate our lives, the more we shall be able to cultivate honest speech in impossible times.” -  Jack Zipes
